Philodendron White Knight
Philodendron is photographed in a Tondela pot. The package contains a plant in a plastic pot.
About the plant:
Philodendrons come from the rainforests of Central and South America. Their name is derived from the Greek word phileo = to love a dendron = tree, because many varieties are climbing and can cling to trees with their aerial roots. We can ensure a similar life for them in domestic conditions as well, if we give them some support in the flowerpot, which they could also climb on, e.g. a coconut stick. After some time it will form a large compact plant with elongated leaves.
It belongs to the Araceae family - so beware, it is poisonous! These plants contain calcium oxalate crystals in their tissues, which after ingestion will cause irritation of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and digestive tract. But if we place it in a safe place where children and pets can't reach it, its beautiful color will certainly catch everyone's attention.
Philodendron "White Knight" is a rare collector's item. It has green leaves with white variegation and an interestingly colored stem that alternates between purple and white.
