About the plant:
 Philodendrons, or simply philodendrons, are plants from the Araceae family. It comes from the rainforests of Central and South America. And do you know the Birkin bag? This is her version from the maid realm - a rare philodendron with an elegant and variegated pattern.
Unlike the others already mentioned, this robust perennial herb has an interesting way of life. In tropical America, it is commonly found in treetops, on rocks or in swamps. We can ensure a similar life for them in domestic conditions as well, if we give them some support in the flowerpot, which they could also climb on, e.g. a coconut stick, otherwise we let them flow freely from, for example, a shelf.
 An interesting feature of the life of philodendrons is the temperature reached during pollination - scientists measured an incredible 43 °C

The plant needs a lot of light to grow healthy and color its leaves. Give the plant plenty of bright light without sunlight that could burn the leaves. The ideal location is the north and east side.

It is propagated by top or stem cuttings, which are best cut in spring. If the plant is mature enough, even a cut will benefit it and make it thicker. Let the cuttings take root in water or in a mixture of peat and sand at approx. 20 - 25 °C.

  • The plant prefers soft water, preferably rainwater, both for dewing and watering.
  • Excessive watering can cause the leaves to turn brown.
  • If the variegation on the leaves is lost, it needs more light.
