About the plant:
Hoya kerrii is an unpretentious climbing succulent plant native to East Asia. Its long stems are decorated with fleshy, shiny and dark green heart-shaped leaves (hence the English name Sweetheart Plant, Valentine hoya ). Hoye got its Czech name of wax plants on the basis of its star-shaped flowers, which, like their leaves, shine like wax. The green heart is a planted Hoya kerrii leaf , which will remain in this form forever, rarely growing. If you grow it, it can bloom with orange flowers that are slightly fragrant.

svetlo Light

The plant needs enough diffused light for healthy growth. Avoid direct sunlight, which could burn the leaves. The ideal site is the north and east side near the windows or the west side with fading weak sunlight.

zalivka Watering

We water slightly, but regularly. Always after the substrate has dried. In winter, we limit watering.

vzduch Humidity

The plant is comfortable with increasing the air humidity by dewing, but we never mist the flowers! The leaves can be wiped from dust with a damp cloth.

mnozeni Propagation

Stem cuttings in the spring, which we let season in water or directly in soil.

problemy Common problems

  • Overwatering: Too much water can cause leaf drop.
  • Irregular watering: The plant does not bloom due to irregular and insufficient watering.
  • Direct light: Direct (especially midday) light can burn the leaves and create spots on them.
  • Dark habitat: With a lack of light, the plant's flowers may drop.
  • Change of habitat: During flowering, waxwort is sensitive to changes in habitat, to which it may respond by dropping flowers.
