Zamioculcas is photographed in a Ferry pot. The package contains a plant in a plastic pot. The Zamioculcas in the product photo measures 50 cm.

About the plant:
Zamioculcas zamiifolia, in Czech Kulkas zamiolistý or simply zamiokulkas, belongs to the aronaceae family. From a biological point of view, this is the only representative of the kulkas genus, but we also know Zamiokulkas zenzi (apparently "an improved distant relative"). In English it is known under the name ZZ Plant or Welcome plant.
This succulent perennial herb comes from the tropical regions of East Africa, but it is most abundantly represented, apparently, in Madagascar. In local conditions, it is used as a medicinal herb, as its leaves relieve pain in the ear and some types of skin diseases.
Nowadays, this room is well-known and very popular, both for its exotic and original appearance, but above all for its unpretentiousness. Almost everyone can take care of it, as it does not require much time. Nevertheless, it did not appear in households until the beginning of this century.

svetlo Light

Prefers indirect light, can handle partial shade. It is good to choose a location with diffused daylight, but never near a window, it could burn its leaves. In winter, however, it is desirable to move it closer to the window due to the lack of light.

zalivka Watering

We water about once a week, but we always check whether the substrate is dry. If not, we will wait with watering to avoid rotting the roots.

vzduch Humidity

It is a tropical plant, but it does not directly require dewing of the leaves.

mnozeni Propagation

Leaf cuttings, ideally in spring. Place the cut and well-dried succulent leaves on the sand. After some time, fine roots will begin to appear on the lower part of the leaf, and at this moment we moisten the sand a little. We then plant the new plant in a sandy substrate. Another method of propagation is division when transplanting.

problemy Common problems

  • Overwatering: Too much water can cause root rot.
  • Fading leaves: Direct sunlight - we have to get the plant away from it.
