Dieffenbachia Summer Style

Dieffenbachia is photographed in a Ferry pot. The package contains a plant in a plastic pot.

About the plant:
Dieffenbachia Reflector comes from tropical and subtropical America, but even here in Europe it is a very popular plant that is grown in indoor conditions. Its dark green leaves with beautifully colored lime green fields (or the other way around, if you prefer) are larger than the palm of your hand, making the plant stand out especially as a solitary plant.
The stems tend to be massive, but given that the plant grows relatively quickly, it will probably need to be tied to a support pole after a while. With good care, you can also be rewarded with flowers that are formed from a stick wrapped in a quiver, similar to, for example, the scapula.
Like other arum plants, Diffenbachia is also poisonous because it contains calcium oxalate crystals. Poisoning after ingestion of this plant is among the most frequently reported poisonings from houseplants. A baking soda solution is recommended as first aid for ingestion or skin burns, but we hope you never need it! To be safe, put the plant out of the reach of children and pets!

svetlo Light

This plant requires a bright place without direct sun. With a lack of light, the plant loses its coloring, on the contrary, direct sunlight could burn it.

zalivka Watering

It is a moisture-loving plant that does not mind a slightly moist substrate, but do not forget about good drainage so that its roots do not rot.

vzduch Humidity

It is a tropical plant, therefore it requires dewing of the leaves, because it loves high air humidity.

mnozeni Propagation

We propagate it by top or stem cuttings, which root well in water or moist soil with the addition of a growth stimulator.

problemy Common problems

  • If the plant stands in water for a long time, it can rot - the leaves then turn yellow and fall off.
  • Direct sun can burn the leaves and they will then develop brown dry ends/parts.
  • Dry brown ends of the leaves mean that the plant has a lack of air moisture. Grow more or place it near a humidifier.
