About the plant:

Yucca elephantipes (or giant Yucca ) from the asparagus family comes from the USA and Mexico. It is a tree-like plant resembling a palm tree, growing up to 4 m high in our conditions. The plant usually grows with a thicker trunk that may or may not branch. It does not bloom in our conditions. The plant is poisonous and contains juices that can poison pets or children if ingested.

Light

The plant likes diffused light and can tolerate direct sunlight. In summer, it is possible to summer on the terrace or balcony, but avoid the midday sun and strong wind.

Watering

The dressing for this plant can be quite generous. Be careful about waterlogged substrate and standing in water. Reduce watering significantly in the winter months.

Humidity

Yucca does not require specific conditions. It is a heat-loving plant and will do well with higher temperatures. In the winter months min. 12 °C.

Propagation

Yucca is well propagated by top green cuttings or by cutting off the lignified stem. After cutting the plant, it is necessary to drip the original branch with splitting wax so that it re-images and does not dry out.

Common problems

Yucca can be susceptible to cutworms, mealybugs and other leaf-eating parasites. In case of prolonged drought or, on the contrary, overwatering, the leaves may turn yellow.

We ship live plant orders Monday through Thursday. If we cannot prepare your shipment within these days, we will send it again the following week. We want to avoid plants being left in the depot for long periods of time, which is especially important during the winter months when cold conditions can harm them.

1. DPD

A DPD courier will contact you the day before delivery with the exact delivery date. If you would like to redirect the shipment to the collection point, you can make arrangements directly with the carrier. In the winter months, however, we strongly do not recommend redirecting to the delivery boxes, as low temperatures can damage the plants. In this case, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of the plants and complaints will not be accepted.

The price of delivery of plants and accessories throughout the Czech Republic is 149 CZK, to Slovakia 8 €.

2. Post office

You can have the selected goods delivered to the delivery point of Zásilkovna in the Czech Republic for CZK 89 or in Slovakia for €5. All you have to do is select the delivery option "Delivery" when ordering. After completing your order, you will be able to use the map to select a specific delivery location.

Keep in mind that the Post Office has restrictions on package dimensions and weight. If you don't see the Post Office option, you probably have bulky products in your cart and you need to choose another carrier. In the winter months, we strongly do not recommend choosing delivery to Z-Boxes due to the risk of the plants dying in the cold. In this case, we are not responsible for the condition of the plants and the claim will not be accepted.

3. Personal collection

You can pick up your order for free in person at the address Křižíkova 55/65, Prague 8. Once your order is ready, we will send you an e-mail with information about the possibility of picking it up. If you do not collect the order within 3 working days , or if you do not inform us of another collection date, it will be automatically cancelled .

4. Express delivery by courier around Prague

5. Z-boxes, Alzaboxes, PPL boxes and others.

In case of payment by cash on delivery, orders for collection boxes are automatically redirected to the nearest collection point.
