About the plant:
Aspidistra ( Kořenokvětka in Czech) from the family Asparagaceae (Asparagaceae) is an extremely hardy and undemanding plant suitable for heavily shaded areas in the interior, it even gets by with artificial light for a long time. For centuries, it has symbolized happiness, tenacity and unpretentiousness and can withstand even worse conditions, which is why it is called " Domestic happiness ". It can grow to a height of around 60 cm, it has stiff, deep green lanceolate leaves up to half a meter long. Red-brown star-shaped flowers, as the Czech name suggests, sprout from the plant's root above the ground.

Aspidistra comes from Taiwan, where it grows as an undergrowth under trees, so a shady place without direct sun is suitable. It grows relatively slowly and it can take several years to grow a larger plant.

Light

The plant likes diffused light without direct sun and tolerates shady places and artificial lighting very well.

Watering

Allow the substrate to dry a little before watering again. You can stick your finger in the substrate and if it's dry, water - if not, wait a few days. Overwatering will cause rotting of the roots and the plant.

Humidity

An increase in air humidity benefits the plant, so we can dew.

Propagation

It reproduces by separating the bunches. Due to the atypical structure of the roots, we recommend carefully separating the plant from each other. When planting, do not put the roots too deep.

Common problems

Overwatering: Too much water can cause root rot, yellowing and leaf drop. Dry leaves: Dry air and low humidity will cause the leaves to dry out.

Delivery to the address by courier

We ship live plant orders Monday through Thursday. If we cannot prepare your shipment within these days, we will send it again the following week. We want to avoid plants being left in the depot for long periods of time, which is especially important during the winter months when cold conditions can harm them.

Individual shipping prices:

1. DPD

A DPD courier will contact you the day before delivery with the exact delivery date. If you would like to redirect the shipment to the collection point, you can make arrangements directly with the carrier. In the winter months, however, we strongly do not recommend redirecting to the delivery boxes, as low temperatures can damage the plants. In this case, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of the plants and complaints will not be accepted.

The price of delivery of plants and accessories throughout the Czech Republic is 149 CZK, to Slovakia 8 €.

2. Post office

You can have the selected goods delivered to the delivery point of Zásilkovna in the Czech Republic for CZK 89 or in Slovakia for €5. All you have to do is select the delivery option "Delivery" when ordering. After completing your order, you will be able to use the map to select a specific delivery location.

Keep in mind that the Post Office has restrictions on package dimensions and weight. If you don't see the Post Office option, you probably have bulky products in your cart and you need to choose another carrier. In the winter months, we strongly do not recommend choosing delivery to Z-Boxes due to the risk of the plants dying in the cold. In this case, we are not responsible for the condition of the plants and the claim will not be accepted.

3. Personal collection

You can pick up your order for free in person at the address Křižíkova 55/65, Prague 8. Once your order is ready, we will send you an e-mail with information about the possibility of picking it up. If you do not collect the order within 3 working days , or if you do not inform us of another collection date, it will be automatically cancelled .

4. Express delivery by courier around Prague

Do you need an order as soon as possible? We also offer the goods on Wolt . Wolt delivers these orders within an hour.

5. Z-boxes, Alzaboxes, PPL boxes and others.

In case of payment by cash on delivery, orders for collection boxes are automatically redirected to the nearest collection point.
