About the plant:
Senecio is a genus of plants from the star family. Senecio rowleyanus may resemble peas or green beads on a string. But it is actually an overhanging succulent with fleshy leaves in the shape of balls. Small white flowers may bloom irregularly. It is suitable for growing in hanging containers, where it stands out beautifully.
This genus includes both herbs and trees, shrubs or vines and can be found almost everywhere in the world. Even in the Czech Republic, we can look for its representative (for example, narrow-leaved elderberry grows here). It was probably brought here with sheep's wool in the 19th century. Originally, this plant comes from South Africa, more precisely from the Republic of South Africa. However, it is highly toxic to mammals. If it gets into pastures, it can cause severe diarrhea, anorexia or even death in livestock.
